INNER PEACE, DAILY AFFIRMATIONS | FOKUS ART

I created “Inner Peace” as part of the Daily Affirmations public art installation presented by FOKUS in 2022. The project places artworks in outdoor advertising spaces throughout Los Angeles, transforming everyday city infrastructure into moments of reflection and encouragement for people moving through the city.

The piece centers around the affirmation “Peace comes from within,” illustrated through a figure in meditation whose thoughts take the form of a tree growing from their mind. The imagery reflects the idea that inner clarity and grounding can exist even in the midst of external chaos.

Installed within a street-level advertising frame, the work becomes part of the daily rhythm of the city — visible to commuters, pedestrians, and residents passing through the space. By placing affirmations within public environments, the project invites brief pauses for reflection and offers a moment of calm within the fast pace of urban life.

Through this piece, I wanted to explore how illustration and public art can serve as quiet reminders of self-awareness, resilience, and emotional balance within shared spaces.
